Garden Terrace – Jianze Showroom

Hangzhou - ChinaRetail

Yatofu employs a focus on natural scenery and a relaxed holiday atmosphere for Jianze’s furniture showroom in the newly opened Bir Land, a culture and art-infused commercial center in Liangzhe New Town, situated in the city of Hangzhou. The project aims to convey a sense of free spirit and friendly ambience through extending the outdoors into the interior.

The design scheme for the 80-square-meter rectangular box-like space stems from the notion of a garden terrace. The concept is intended to invite a new expression of Jianze as a brand and its products, offering an engaging and tactile furniture showroom experience, as well as providing a friendly and vibrant community terrace for the neighborhood.

In order to create an open terrace inspired space, the extended floor-to-ceiling fully operable glass door, adorned with brand’s abstract pictures, maintains a visual continuity between street and the venue, and effectively introduces the public realm into the interior.

A light box structure, made of stainless steel was asserted in the center of the interior, integrates extra functional needs of seating, display, gathering as well as a semi-public arena embracing more immersive exploration.

The enclosure features sage green perforated stainless-steel plates and windows are placed strategically to create dynamic fresh ambiance and voyeuristic moments for visitors.

The project was designed to function as a gathering space that patrons are free to experience, and endowed with capabilities for small-scale exhibitions, markets, and events.

This minimal, warm and bright showroom acts more like a public terrace space, inviting people to connect with jianze's commitments to developing inclusive and environment friendly design concepts.
