Garden Traversing – Jianze Exhibition

Shanghai – ChinaExhibition

For Jianze furniture’s debut at Design Shanghai, Yatofu conceived an installation that balances clarity with subtlety — a spatial identity that distinguishes the brand while inviting quiet discovery.

The concept, Garden Traversing, reimagines the act of wandering through a traditional Chinese garden: a journey shaped not by immediacy, but by layers of framing, shifting perspectives, and moments of pause. The booth becomes a soft landscape — not fully revealed at first glance, but gradually unfolding.

A structural grid in Jianze’s signature orange punctuates the space, acting both as wayfinding and visual anchor. Between these frameworks, playful apertures reinterpret the brand’s graphic motifs, offering controlled glimpses into the interior. This layered approach builds anticipation, drawing visitors inward.

Rather than presenting product in a linear fashion, the display is partially veiled behind translucent curtains. Gradient-dyed textiles suggest height and fluidity within the compact footprint, while light filters through to reveal interplays between objects and space.

The result is a calm, composed spatial experience that reflects Jianze’s design ethos: bold in form, nuanced in detail, and deeply rooted in the rituals of home.
